Alverta W. Long, 95, formerly of Manheim, died peacefully following a brief illness on Saturday, December 19, 2009 at the Masonic Village, Elizabethtown.
Born in Lancaster Junction, she was the daughter of the late Isaac and Annie Shear Walborn. Alverta worked at the former Noggles Garment Factory Manheim and the former Donegal Industries Mount Joy. She was the wife of the late Raymond S. Long who died in 1968. Alverta was a member of St. Pauls United Church Of Christ Manheim.
Surviving is a son, R. Dale husband of Thelma Lancaster Long of Elizabethtown, two Granddaughters: Gail Gardner, and Robin Hoffman, seven great grandchildren, and a sister, Leona M. Enck of Elizabethtown.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment is in Ruhls United Methodist Cemetery, Rapho Township.
