Albert Edward Jochen Jr.   Albert Edward Jochen Jr. 90, passed away peacefully in the care of Masonic Village Hospice Elizabethtown, PA on August 28, 2024. 

 Albert was a Master Mason and was dedicated to the services of Freemasonry for over 70 years. Al served as Worshipful Master of the Bethlehem Lodge in Phillipsburg, NJ, he was a member of the Patmos Lodge Hanover, PA, the Scottish Rite and Zembo Shriners. A talented woodworker, Albert was a member of the Masonic Village Wood shop in Elizabethtown and was previously a member of the Hanover Historical Society, Hanover PA. 

Albert graduated from Middlesex County Vocational School, Perth Amboy, NJ and Rutgers Extension Division New Brunswick NJ. 

 He was a licensed electrician and was certified in transistors, radio and industrial electricity. Albert served in the US Navy from 1955-1957.

Al began his career with NJ Bell Telephone Company as a test bureau foreman in the company’s Elizabeth district, overseeing the installation and maintenance of teletype and data equipment within the Raritan division. He was a member of the Dale Carnegie Leadership and Training Institute.  

After 25 years of service with NJ Bell, Al continued his profession with AT&T and retired as Executive Director of Business Technology and infosystems in 1988. 

Albert was preceded in death by his first wife and mother to daughter Jill, Nancy A. Miller-Jochen, mother, Carolyn Lauritsen-Jochen, father, Dr. Albert E. Jochen, sister, Laurel E. Jochen, his second wife, Irene Stillwell-Jochen and son in law David F. Wiater.  

Surviving, brother Dr. Robert F. Jochen (Chris), daughter, Jill Jochen-Wiater, granddaughter’s Meaghan L. Wiater and Marissa E. Ernst (Dan) and great grandson Owen Ernst.  

A memorial service will take place at the Sell Chapel columbarium, Masonic Village Elizabethtown PA at the convenience of the family.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Masonic Village Children’s Home, 1 Masonic Drive, Elizabethtown, PA 17022 Email-children@masonic villages.org
