A. Arlene Miller, 81, of Mount Joy entered into rest on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at Longwood Manor, Maytown. Born in Mount Joy Township, she was the daughter of the late Norman S. and Mary B. Longenecker Miller. Arlene was a 1947 graduate of Lancaster Mennonite School. She studied piano with the late Earle W. Echternach. Arlene taught piano lessons since 1946 and enjoyed working with all ages. Her goal was to have every student enjoy playing the piano for their own enjoyment and inspiration; and then being able to share with others. She taught until 2006. Her interests included piano playing, gardening, floral arranging, and cooking, especially the desserts she shared with her family and friends.
Surviving is a brother, C. Richard husband of Reba Witmer Miller of Lititz; sister-in-law, Ann E. Miller of Mount Joy; sixteen nieces and nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a dear friend, Martha Ebersole of Mount Joy. She was preceded in death by siblings, G. Mildred Garber, N. Parke Miller and H. Florence Miller. The family of Arlene Miller would like to thank the staff and everyone at Longwood Manor for the excellent care they provided.
